Season 3 Episode 10 of The Story of Rock and Roll Radio Show was broadcast on 23 October 2020 at 7 pm. There was a quick recovery from a botched intro and we were off and running with Guns ‘n’ Roses’ controversial masterpiece ‘One in a Million’. That was followed up with some Deep Purple and then, into the lesser-known with Fozzy and Catalano. I reckon this was the most diverse TSORR ever aired, I even played The Smith’s for the first time ever, and I took flak on the Discord server for that J. I made amends with the brand new Heathen called Empire of the Blind towards the end of the show.
We took a listen to Bruce Springsteen’s new track ‘Ghosts’ for the second time in 3 weeks just because it is so good. It’s definitely my song of the year, impossible to be in a bad mood when listening to that little bit of upliftment. The Punk was taken care of by The Damned and The Exploited with a bit of Billy Bragg and The Boomtown Rats thrown in for good measure. The Grunge part was really cool with ‘Put You Down’ off Alice in Chains’ debut album Facelift. We followed with yet another track off Redux, The Brendon O’Brien remix of Pearl Jam’s masterpiece Ten. A highlight for me was Temple of the Dog ‘s ‘Wooden Jesus’ Chris Cornell was amazing on that.
We checked out the brand new Blue Öyster Cult which is great and the new Heathen and then we slapped in some Francois Van Coke and finished off with Kid Rocks’ Trucker Anthem. I’d had a hell of a week as I mentioned a few times and I invented ‘Bungle Time and gave it a theme song, see if you can relate 🙂 Go to The Story of Rock and Roll on Facebook for any comments about that.
