Welcome to another episode of The Story of Rock and Roll Show. S7E29 went out live on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 on 18 Jul 2024. You can follow us on Facebook, X, or Instagram, just search for The Story of Rock and Roll on those sites. The episode is choc-a-bloc with Rock and Metal, and we had a great time. Please also note that the artists featured are in order of play. Also, note that at about an hour and 20 minutes into the show, somewhere between Joe Bonamassa and Iron Maiden, there was a technical hitch on the mic, and it goes quiet for about 15 seconds. Hang in there it all comes right.
I had a great interview with the guys from Jasper Dan, we got a scoop on their brand new track “Mama Voodoo” which was released the following morning.
This week on the Twisted Twins we had two tracks called “Speed of Light’. The first from Iron Maiden and the second from The Cult off their Beyond Good and Evil Album.
Immortals this week came from Guns ‘n’ Roses with “Breakdown”, a most amazing track off Use Your Illusion II. Axl Rose, at this stage of his career, was probably the biggest rock star in the world. One thing that he doesn’t get enough recognition for in my view is his incredibly good lyrics. This track is a great example.
The Diabolical Challenge looked at four bands beginning with the letter ‘E’. The idea is that we have 4 albums, and you can only pick one. This week we had:
Eagles – One of These Nights
Europe – The Final Countdown
Eminem – The Eminem Show
Exodus – Person Non Grata
Bomb Crocodile and Slow Panda’s picks of the week were Machine Head – “Bastards” and Karnivool – Eidolon
