S5E50 aired on 15 December 2022 on Rebel Rock Radio.  December is usually quiet on the station but for TSORR it is always very special, this particular show celebrated the official start of the December holidays.  Next week TSORR turns 5 and the week after that Episode 52 the season closer takes you through all the rock and metal highlights of 2022.  But more of that later.  This episode kicked off with White Lion and a track off the Fight To Survive called ‘In the City’.  From there we went to the USA and a band called Motor Sister, and Scotland for a bit of Nazareth and ‘May The Sunshine’, a rock classic if ever there was one.  Electric 6 and System of a Down took us to the weirder side of rock with ‘I Wish This Song Was Louder’ and BOOM! Respectively.

From there we checked out the ladies, Laura Cox out of France is new to me, what an awesome guitarist, we listened to Freaking Out Loud off her Burning Bright album.  Big thanks to Norman for that one, I had totally missed Laura.  We also checked out another track off the new Halestorm album, Back From The Dead.  Buckcherry, no strangers to TSORR hit us with Fallout and Sixx A.M. with ‘Stars’.  Metallica got us back into the heavy side of things and we stayed there with ‘Spreading the Disease’ from Queensryche and some Accepts and some Candlemass.  It all went down very well.

South Africa is blessed with two of the greatest blues guitarists around, Dan Patlansky who has just been awarded the second-best album of 2022 by Blues Rock Magazine for his Shelter of Bones, (this is a huge achievement guys,  Dan beat out blues giants Walter Trout, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Edgar Winter)  and Richard Pryor in his band Pebbleman.  We took a listen to ‘Devil’s Dopamine’ and a track called ‘Edge of Nails’ from Richard’s Pebbleman project.  Pink Floyd’s ‘Young Lust’ gave another classic track and then we hit the punky part of the show with The Boomtown Rats, The Clash, and a tribute to Jet Black, the drummer from The Stranglers, RIP Jet, thanks for the music.  I am sure that Jet and Dave Greenfield are having a pint right this very moment.

Taking us into the home stretch we hit the rock with Motörhead’s classic ‘Stay Clean’, The Dead Daisies, and some serious thrash from Death Angel and a track called ‘Mistress of Pain’.  Then it was back to South Africa and three in a row from Cutting Jade, Arapaho, and Francois Van Coke.  We closed out with Alter Bridge and a track that sums it all up tonight titled ‘Holiday’.  All the best to you all and to everyone who went on leave this week, enjoy it, Memento Mori!
