Episode 43 kicked off at 19h00 on 27 Oct 2022 live on Rebel Rock Radio.  We got straight into it with a track off one of the best live albums ever released, Bruce Springsteen’s Live 1975 to ’85, and a track called ‘Spirit in the Night’.  From there it was time for some Thin Lizzy followed by Aussie rockers Airbourne and a track called ‘No Way But the Hard Way’.  It was good to hear  Kim Mitchell’s killer track ‘Go For Soda’ again.  It should a staple on all those one-hit-wonder compilation albums.  From there we went to ‘Hear About it Later’ off Van Halen’s Fairwarning album, Dave Lee Roth at his languid best.   As always, it has to be said that Eddie Van Halen left a hole that cannot be filled.

Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown made a welcome return to TSORR with a track called ‘Fuel’ off their Pressure album.  Load shedding has hit internet radio hard causing one of TSORR’s greatest supporters to be absent for a few weeks.  On this episode he was tuned in, so we caught up on a few of his besties, Space Lord by Monster Magnet, ‘Dead Again’ from Buckcherry and then some Marilyn Manson and Type O negative to round it out.  We stayed in the M’s and went heavy with Machine Head and a stunning track off the new Megadeth called ‘Mission To Mars’.

There were a couple of birthdays to celebrate, Tom Petty would have been 72 last week, KK Downing is 71 today and SA guitar maestro Richard Pryor had a birthday yesterday.  We heard from all of them.  It was great to check out some vintage Iron Maiden in the form of ‘ Children of The Damned.  From there Diverted Disorder bought some heaviness to the proceedings.  Hailing from the Vaal, this 4-Piece are making waves with their awesome style of in their own words “Alternative, Rock, Blues blended with Trash, core, and Death Metal to create melodic perfection”.  We stayed in SA with Shadowclub and a track called ‘Good Morning Killer’.  The aforementioned SA guitar maestro Richard Pryor’s solo project Pebbleman got a look in with a track called ‘Searching’.  Halestorm, Thundermother, and an amazing bit of teamwork between Nita Strauss and Alissa White-Gluz gave the ladies some airtime.  The Nita and Alissa track is called ‘The Wolf You Feed’ and it is really cool, check it out.

Following on from last week’s Crowded House track we had a listen to Tim Finn’s big hit ‘I Got You’ when he was still with Split Enz.  The statute of limitations on God save the Queen is now over so we gave the Sex Pistols a chance and then checked out a brand new track from Biilnk 182, some Fall Out Boy, and a very moving track from My Chemical Romance called ‘The Light Behind Your Eyes’.
